Environmental Snake Oil

“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act.” — George Orwell

How did this current iteration of the Environmental Movement get started anyway? was it Al Gore? after he invented the internet, he got busy with the weather. Well, no, it wasn't Gore's idea originally. Rather, we trace the environmental socialist nonsense to none other than Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezinski.

These two old men have something else in common. Both have been active members of an international think tank from the dark side called the Club of Rome. Founded at the Rockefeller’s estate in Bellagio, Italy, in 1968, some of the other members include Al Gore, David Rockefeller, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, and Mikhail Gorbachev.

Here is a mission statement for the Club from Gorbachev himself:

“The threat of environmental crisis will be the ‘internal disaster key’ that will unlock the New World Order.”

More precisely, their goal is population control. The solution? Create an environmental catastrophe like, oh, say, “global warming” and blame it on humanity.

As these global elitists tell it:

“In searching for the new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. . . . But in designating them as the enemy, we fall into the trap about which we have already warned, namely mistaking symptoms for cause. All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changing attitudes and behaviors that they can be overcome." The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.

What? Excuse me?

In 1972, the Club took the world stage with the publication of a book they had commissioned to be written by a group of MIT scientists. It was called The Limits to Growth. Examining the planet’s population growth in relation to available resources, the report concluded that the planet would run out of resources sometime in the next 100 years, resulting in a catastrophic decline in population and industrial production.

The authors insist that:

“. . . the impact of humanity on the world ecology and of steps taken toward remediating the accelerating approach to a train wreck that is mankind’s ill-managed and uncontrolled ‘footprint’ on this planet’s environment.”

Super-villains -- Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezinski
George Soros would fit in with this bunch (and probably does).
The book says these trends and their consequences could be altered; but we have to be less, do less and have less. The brand for this Orwellian path to planetary salvation is called sustainable development.

Heavily promoted, the book reached opinion leaders in political, scientific and economic circles as it exploded around the planet like the Harry Potter of environmentalism. It sold 12 million copies in thirty languages despite the fact that the research had all the scientific rigor of a plagiarized term paper for a freshman biology class.

“An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it.” — Mohandas Gandhi

Assailed by top scientists, the research was shoddy in the extreme. Population expert and author Professor Julian Simon said, “The Limits to Growth has been blasted as foolishness or fraud by almost every economist who has read it closely or reviewed it in print.”

Yale economist Henry Wallich reviewed the book saying, “. . . the quantitative content of the model comes from the authors’ imagination, although they never reveal the equations that they used.”

But it is a PR world and with the publication of this book, the modern environmental movement was born. Midwifed to life in a blanket of deceit, it was yet hailed as the savior, not of mankind, but of the planet it claimed was being fried to a crisp by humanity’s toxic binge of carbon dioxide.

The scientific fraud is its own malice, but few were able to see the underlying strategy — that the book would serve as the foundation of a global public relations campaign that would mesmerize legislators, educators, and countless organizations of goodwill and would eventually set the stage for the biggest rip-off in human history.

This is the big Con: An environmental movement calling for “sustainable development” and a reduction of man’s so-called carbon footprint on the planet was, and is, a scam, a hoax, a falsehood — environmental snake oil.

“Every violation of truth is not only a sort of suicide in the liar, but is a stab at the health of human society.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Kumakatok

The Kumakatok are a group of three robed figures believed by many in the Philippines to knock on doors in the middle of the night and bring bad omens. They look like humans, but wear hoods that obscure their faces. One resembles a young female, while the other two look like elderly men.

A visit from the Kumakatok is usually an omen of death, as either the eldest member of the house, or one who is ill, will be visited and subsequently die. The visits are supposedly more frequent after a disease outbreak. Residents of Luzon and Visayas at one time painted white crosses on their doors to ward off the Kumakatok. This trend was said to cause the trio to switch from residences to government buildings, hospitals, and even churches.

Reported sightings of the Kumakatok have decreased significantly since World War II. One explanation is that many buildings were destroyed at that time, leaving the Kumakakok few doors upon which to knock.

Do Something

Okay, so you're sitting around depressed about turning forty, or fifty, sixty, whatever, and you think it's all over but the shouting and the memorial service. I got news for you, you don't have to turn to sludge. Get up and go to the gym, take a walk around the block, learn Italian, build something and put some paint on it. Haven't you always wanted to do something or learn something? Now is the time. For those of you who have always wanted to play a musical instrument, I am here to help. See the following flowchart to determine what instrument would suit you.

Knights Templar

Friday the 13th is one of the most well-recognized superstitions in the Western world. The tradition is over 700 years old and has a very interesting origin. During the 12th century, a massive religious war consumed most of Europe and Asia, referred to as “the crusades.” The war lasted centuries and allowed an elite class of knights to accumulate so much power and wealth that their influence rivaled both the monarchy and the church. The Knights of the Temple of Solomon, or more commonly known as “The Knights Templar” were the most influential political force of their time. They were the world’s first international bankers and were the corporate giant of the Middle Ages.

The Templar Knights were a military force throughout the entire Crusades, but didn’t become a strong political organization until given diplomatic immunity by the church in 1126. Their close relationship with the church was unusual for the time, as the lifestyle of a knight was usually associated more with the monarchy. The Knights Templar represented both the warrior and the priest, and they were often referred to as the “fighting monks.” This best of both worlds diplomacy allowed the knights to form their own political dynasty which transcended the established powers of the time. They did not have to abide by the same rules as the church or the monarchy, but instead had the advantage and privileges of both institutions.

During the Crusades it was rumored that the Templars studied alchemy and discovered forbidden knowledge. Some historians say that instead of offering their discoveries to museums, the Templars kept the artifacts and knowledge within their own order. What we know for certain is that the Templars were conniving aristocrats who became the world’s most successful multinational bankers.

They had most of the Western world caught in a complex pyramid scheme that is eerily similar to the scams that are being run by international bankers today. They collected taxes for protecting trade roads, bankrolled both sides of all the wars and exploited the massive peasant class, using them as workhorses to build their fortunes.

Through these shady practices the knights ended up having more money than the monarchy and the church combined. Both the church and the monarchy ended up deeply in debt to the Templars from loans they had taken out, so one would be able to argue quite easily that the Templars were the most dominant political institution of the time. Eventually, the monarchy grew threatened by the immense power of the Knights Templar. The person to finally take action against the Templars was King Phillip the 4th of France. Since the Templars were under the protection of the church, King Phillip needed papal permission to overthrow them.

In order to get this blessing, Phillip covertly murdered two popes in less than a year until a candidate of his choice was in power. With all the necessary steps taken, King Phillip made his move. On the morning of Friday, April 13, 1307 a surprise raid was made on all the Templar offices. The knights were arrested on over a hundred different counts of heresy and treason and many confessed after being brutally tortured. After a short, rigged trial, the Templars were sentenced to burn at the stake. The grand master of the Knights Templar cursed the king and pope before he was executed, and synchronistically both died within the year. It is said that a fleet of Templar warships managed to escape France the night before the raids, which allowed those remaining members to maintain control of world events from behind the scenes. They apparently did this by changing their names and moving to various different parts of the known world. In fact, it is said by many that the Templars who managed to escape the Inquisition fled to Switzerland and reestablished their international banking cartel there.

Switzerland, of course, has been a safe haven for bankers and robber barons for centuries. There are over 500 major banking institutions in Switzerland, the majority owned and controlled by various elite bloodlines and covert organizations. It is estimated that around 35% of all the wealth in the world is held in Switzerland. The World Trade Organization or WTO is also based in Switzerland. These banks are among some of the only financial institutions in Europe that aren’t subject to audits and investigations from the new European Union government. The financial district in London called “the city,” as well as the Vatican in Italy, is also given the same kind of protection and secrecy, but they are the only areas in Europe that have those kinds of privileges.

It is also interesting that the Swiss Guard is responsible for guarding the pope (located in Italy, not Switzerland), a task that was once the job of the Knights Templar. The flag of Switzerland is actually an inversion of the Templar’s shield, the flag being red with a white cross and the shield being white with a red cross. It is important to mention that the banking elite may have ties to the areas government and economy, but they have nothing to do with the people of Switzerland.

Switzerland is just one of the many places where the ruling class has established a stronghold from which to operate, the same goes with “The City” in London, the Vatican, and Washington DC. The people who live in these places generally have nothing to do with the elite’s plans, aside from being used as workhorses, cannon fodder and political pawns. Since the days of their fall from grace, the Templar Knights and their predecessors have learned their lesson. Even if the official order went underground, their business model and diplomatic strategies are still very much alive today and have a deep impact on our way of life. Many say the Templars became an all-powerful “invisible government” by mastering and manipulating politics and finance, much like the bankers that influence world events today. In fact, today’s multinational bankers follow the Templars model precisely and use all of the same age-old tactics to exploit the masses.

Donald J. Trump

Today, Donald Trump becomes the 45th President of the United States. He managed to do so despite overwhelming opposition from the established media, his own political party, the Democratic Party and the Washington collective of federal government supporters. Trump was elected in a populist movement exemplifying the will of the American voters.

Government Paper Shredders

If you listen closely, you can hear the drone of hundreds of paper shredders hard at work in Washington and other government offices around the country and indeed, around the world.

The Obama Administration is looking for a few good paper shredders to close out the last days. There are a handful of chores left to be accomplished and we wouldn't want to leave any evidence of malfeasance lying around for Trump to discover.

For those Snowflakes among you who are averse to books and reading, a paper shredder is a mechanical device used to cut paper into chad, typically either strips or fine particles. Government organizations, businesses, and private individuals use shredders to destroy private, confidential, or otherwise sensitive documents that might prove the user was a traitor to his country and responsible for numerous crimes dating back at least to 2008.

Here To Help

The Drifter is here to dispel snowflake mythology.
Dear snowflakes: I feel your pain and I am moved to respond. You did not get your way in the general election and now you beg for guidance. Perfectly under-standable. Tell you what, I'll do my part, that is, sit here and pontificate, while you continue to watch television and soak up establishment propaganda. Are you an obedient citizen? Does your life have value? Why?

How is truth like a fake shooting in a gun-free zone? You think all these shootings are real? You know which ones I'm talking about. Did you know there is legal precedent for using these bogus shootings as staged events executed by clandestine American agencies? Yes, especially the agency you're thinking about (the CI-told you so agency). These events are staged, designed to alter our impressions about what is going on so that when the government responds to the perceived problem you will say, well, something just had to be done! Come on, wake up, I dare you.

• Intelligence briefings to President-elect Donald Trump show no evidence of Russian cyber attacks. Yet, the Democrats keep saying it. Why would honest Americans lie about such a thing?

• Trump tells Obama diplomatic appointees to have their offices cleaned out by the end of the day on January 20. Draining the swamp begins. Remember the mess the Clintons left in the White House?

• In an interview this past week, Obama says race relations in the US are better than ever. What planet does this guy live on? Nothing he says is on the level.

• Expect Jihad-style attacks to lessen in the US or end entirely after Trump takes office. Many of the media events such as staged terrorist attacks will cease after Trump is sworn in because it will not be so easy for the covert political groups to operate with sold-out police forces. The DHS and CIA and other alphabet agencies are on the party payroll -- the Democratic payroll and much of that will change after January 20.

• Oh, you thought those attacks were real. Sorry, pal, they weren't.

• Carrie Fisher's ashes were put inside an urn made to look like an over-sized Prozac pill.

• Obama's failed policies leave Americans bitter and divided at the end of his second term. Bereft of logic, answers, ideas that work, "racist" is the only word they seem to know.

• No one is on their deathbed wishing they had spent more time at work. Enjoy your life.

• Facebook workers routinely suppressed news stories of interest to conservative readers from the social network’s influential “trending” news section, according to a former journalist who worked on the project. This individual says that workers prevented stories about the right-wing CPAC gathering, Mitt Romney, Rand Paul, and other conservative topics from appearing in the highly-influential section, even though they were organically trending among the site’s users.

• Global warming is a hoax, a giant, pay-for-it-yourself hoax designed to hand over freedom and sovereignty to a world government. You call it a conspiracy with that stupid grin on your face like you know something? Hell yeah, it's a conspiracy, Snowflake, and it will not be the last to be uncovered after the swamp is drained.

I have discovered lots of fake news stories and bias and propaganda at Only one of many sites progressives have programmed to keep people confused. It's a propaganda war, folks -- what you think you know is what will kill you. You don't know what is going on. Quit acting like you do. There is already a mosque less than a mile from ground zero.

Edit: And yet another fake news site: (run by DNC operatives all the way from New York City!)

Led Zeppelin

The truth is, back when it was going on, we knew that over and above all the others, including The Beatles and The Stones, Led Zeppelin was the quintessential rock band. Man, those guys played hard! They had the licks, the looks, and the love of the public. They were stylish, a spectacle even, but when they played, it all made sense.

Led Zeppelin formed in London in 1968 with guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bass and keyboard player John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. They had a heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia, though their unique style drew from a wide variety of influences, including folk music.

After changing their name from the New Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin signed a deal with Atlantic Records giving them considerable artistic freedom and although initially unpopular with critics, they achieved significant commercial success with albums such as Led Zeppelin (1969), Led Zeppelin II (1969), Led Zeppelin III (1970), Led Zeppelin IV (1971), Houses of the Holy (1973), and Physical Graffiti (1975). Their fourth album, which features the track "Stairway to Heaven", is among the most popular and influential works in rock music, and helped to secure the group's popularity.

Page wrote most of Led Zeppelin's music, particularly early in their career, while Plant generally supplied the lyrics. Jones' keyboard-based compositions later became central to the group's catalogue, which featured increasing experimentation. The latter half of their career saw a series of record-breaking tours that earned the group a reputation for excess and debauchery. Although they remained commercially and critically successful, their output and touring schedule were limited during the late 1970s, and the group disbanded following Bonham's death from alcohol-related asphyxia in 1980. In the decades that followed, the surviving members sporadically collaborated and participated in one-off Led Zeppelin reunions. The most successful of these was the 2007 Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in London, with Jason Bonham taking his late father's place behind the drums.

Led Zeppelin are widely considered one of the most successful, innovative, and influential rock groups in history. They are one of the best-selling music artists in the history of audio recording; various sources estimate the group's record sales at 200 to 300 million units worldwide. With RIAA-certified sales of 111.5 million units, they are the second-best-selling band in the US. Each of their nine studio albums placed in the top 10 of the Billboard album chart and six reached the number-one spot. They achieved eight consecutive UK number-one albums. Rolling Stone magazine described them as "the heaviest band of all time", "the biggest band of the Seventies", and "unquestionably one of the most enduring bands in rock history". They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995; the museum's biography of the band states that they were "as influential" during the 1970s as the Beatles were during the 1960s.

In 1966, London-based session guitarist Jimmy Page joined the blues-influenced rock band the Yardbirds to replace bassist Paul Samwell-Smith. Page soon switched from bass to lead guitar, creating a dual lead guitar line-up with Jeff Beck. Following Beck's departure in October 1966, the Yardbirds, tired from constant touring and recording, began to wind down. Page wanted to form a supergroup with him and Beck on guitars, and the Who's Keith Moon and John Entwistle on drums and bass, respectively. Vocalists Steve Winwood and Steve Marriott were also considered for the project. The group never formed, although Page, Beck, and Moon did record a song together in 1966, "Beck's Bolero", in a session that also included bassist-keyboardist John Paul Jones.

The Yardbirds played their final gig in July 1968 at Luton College of Technology in Bedfordshire. They were still committed to several concerts in Scandinavia, so drummer Jim McCarty and vocalist Keith Relf authorized Page and bassist Chris Dreja to use "the Yardbirds" name to fulfill the band's obligations. Page and Dreja began putting a new line-up together. Page's first choice for the lead singer was Terry Reid, but Reid declined the offer and suggested Robert Plant, a singer for the Band of Joy and Hobbstweedle. Plant eventually accepted the position, recommending former Band of Joy drummer John Bonham. Jones inquired about the vacant position at the suggestion of his wife after Dreja dropped out of the project to become a photographer. Page had known Jones since they were both session musicians and agreed to let him join as the final member.

The four played together for the first time in a room below a record store on Gerrard Street in London. Page suggested that they attempt "Train Kept A-Rollin'", originally a jump blues song popularized in a rockabilly version by Johnny Burnette, which had been covered by the Yardbirds. "As soon as I heard John Bonham play", Jones recalled, "I knew this was going to be great ... We locked together as a team immediately". Before leaving for Scandinavia, the group took part in a recording session for the P. J. Proby album, Three Week Hero. The album's track "Jim's Blues", with Plant on harmonica, was the first studio track to feature all four future members of Led Zeppelin.

The band completed the Scandinavian tour as the New Yardbirds, playing together for the first time in front of a live audience at Gladsaxe Teen Clubs in Gladsaxe, Denmark, on 7 September 1968. Later that month, they began recording their first album, which was based on their live set. The album was recorded and mixed in nine days, and Page covered the costs. After the album's completion, the band were forced to change their name after Dreja issued a cease and desist letter, stating that Page was allowed to use the New Yardbirds moniker for the Scandinavian dates only. One account of how the new band's name was chosen held that Moon and Entwistle had suggested that a supergroup with Page and Beck would go down like a "lead balloon", an idiom for disastrous results. The group dropped the 'a' in lead at the suggestion of their manager, Peter Grant, so that those unfamiliar with the term would not pronounce it "leed". The word "balloon" was replaced by "zeppelin", a word which, according to music journalist Keith Shadwick, brought "the perfect combination of heavy and light, combustibility and grace" to Page's mind.

In November 1968, Grant secured a $143,000 advance contract from Atlantic Records, which was then the biggest deal of its kind for a new band. Atlantic were a label with a catalogue of mainly blues, soul, and jazz artists, but in the late 1960s they began to take an interest in British progressive rock acts. Record executives signed Led Zeppelin without having ever seen them. Under the terms of their contract, the band had autonomy in deciding when they would release albums and tour, and had the final say over the contents and design of each album. They would also decide how to promote each release and which tracks to release as singles. They formed their own company, Superhype, to handle all publishing rights.

They began their first tour of the UK on 4 October 1968, still were billed as the New Yardbirds, and played their first show as Led Zeppelin at the University of Surrey in Guildford on 25 October. Tour manager Richard Cole, who would become a major figure in the touring life of the group, organized their first North American tour at the end of the year. Their debut album, Led Zeppelin, was released in the US during the tour on 12 January 1969, and peaked at number 10 on the Billboard chart; it was released in the UK, where it peaked at number 6, on 31 March. According to Steve Erlewine, the album's memorable guitar riffs, lumbering rhythms, psychedelic blues, groovy, bluesy shuffles and hints of English folk, made it "a significant turning point in the evolution of hard rock and heavy metal".

Bron-Yr-Aur, near Machynlleth, the Welsh cottage to which Page and Plant retired in 1970 to write many of the tracks that appeared on the band's third and fourth albums

In their first year, Led Zeppelin completed four US and four UK concert tours, and also released their second album, Led Zeppelin II. Recorded mostly on the road at various North American studios, it was an even greater commercial success than their first album, and reached the number one chart position in the US and the UK. The album further developed the mostly blues-rock musical style established on their debut release, creating a sound that was "heavy and hard, brutal and direct", and which would be highly influential and frequently imitated. Steve Waksman has suggested that Led Zeppelin II was "the musical starting point for heavy metal".

The band saw their albums as indivisible, complete listening experiences, disliking the re-editing of existing tracks for release as singles. Grant maintained an aggressive pro-album stance, particularly in the UK, where there were few radio and TV outlets for rock music. Without the band's consent, however, some songs were released as singles, particularly in the US. In 1969 an edited version of "Whole Lotta Love", a track from their second album, was released as a single in the US. It reached number four in the Billboard chart in January 1970, selling over one million copies and helping to cement the band's popularity. The group also increasingly shunned television appearances, citing their preference that their fans hear and see them in live concerts.

Following the release of their second album, Led Zeppelin completed several more US tours. They played initially in clubs and ballrooms, and then in larger auditoriums as their popularity grew. Some early Led Zeppelin concerts lasted more than four hours, with expanded and improvised live versions of their repertoire. Many of these shows have been preserved as bootleg recordings. It was during this period of intensive concert touring that the band developed a reputation for off-stage excess. Sex and drugs and rock and roll.

In 1970 Page and Plant retired to Bron-Yr-Aur, a remote cottage in Wales, to commence work on their third album, Led Zeppelin III. The result was a more acoustic style that was strongly influenced by folk and Celtic music, and showcased the band's versatility. The album's rich acoustic sound initially received mixed reactions, with critics and fans surprised at the turn from the primarily electric arrangements of the first two albums, further fueling the band's hostility to the musical press. It reached number one in the UK and US charts, but its stay would be the shortest of their first five albums. The album's opening track, "Immigrant Song", was released as a US single in November 1970 against the band's wishes, reaching the top twenty on the Billboard chart.

In 1974, Led Zeppelin took a break from touring and launched their own record label, Swan Song, named after an unreleased song. The record label's logo, based on a drawing called Evening: Fall of Day (1869) by William Rimmer, features a picture of Apollo. The logo can be found on Led Zeppelin memorabilia, especially T-shirts. In addition to using Swan Song as a vehicle to promote their own albums, the band expanded the label's roster, signing artists such as Bad Company, the Pretty Things and Maggie Bell. The label was successful while Led Zeppelin existed, but folded less than three years after they disbanded.

I shouldn't have to tell you, but it's

Be sure and set your clocks forward exactly one year.
